Great Product - Great Service - Perfect for Antique Furniture Restoration
Slotted screws of most types are getting hard to find - not in stock much more at the most familiar hardware outlets. Many furniture restorers realize that Phillips screws are not appropriate for furniture made before the 1930's. But this is also true for architectural work, doors, closets, cabinets, stairs, etc.
Makes me cringe when I see a door in a nicely restored Colonial or Victorian house with all the hardware fastened with Phillips head screws. I'm using these slotted flat head wood screws for construction of a bead-board closet in an 1820 house.
Thanks for making these easy to get, and with a nice dark patina too - not shiny steel or zinc. A little pricey, but just the right thing.
As always Black Smith Bolt delivered what I needed very quickly.
Very satisfied repeat customer.
Real screws, not the cheesy garbage from big box stores. I've definitely found my permanent supplier.
