I was refurbishing a suit of armor (replica from Carlos V of Spain) that we’ve had for over 45 years. The leather straps that held the suit of armor together disintegrated over time. After grinding the original rivets off that held the leather straps to the armor I decided threaded rivets, would make future refurbishing easier.
